"So I say maintain separation and don't get involved in any work-life balance issues."<br><br>That works out until you need employees to work overtime on a weekend and then suddenly the company comes first. And big bosses like you Steele Steadiman suddenly ask salaried workers to come in over the weekend at about 4:45pm on Friday afternoon. The only important work/life balance is for bosses to play golf with vendors or customers during working hours- forget the little worker going to register his car, rent a home, take a sick relative to the doctor...

My thoughts are that work-life balance is the employee's responsibility. When they are putting in their 8 hours at the Ajax Widget Company, I expect them to devote their full attention and energies to the task in front of them. I don't care what they do when they aren't at work and why should I? If they start bringing their issues in to the workplace then things get messy. So I say maintain separation and don't get involved in any work-life balance issues.
