We’re accustomed to hearing about models being involved with illegal drugs, but now comes word that the CEO of Elite Model’s parent company Elite World, has been arrested on suspicion of buying, possessing and transporting cocaine. 35 year old Bertrand Hennet was arrested last night in France as part of a crackdown on drug use in the French fashion world and club scene. A police source reported that Hennet “admitted that he had just bought £120 of cocaine, but snorted it before we got to him.” The officer also said Hennet confessed to snorting as much as 2 grams of cocaine per day. Elite models have represented some of the world’s most famous supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen and Cindy Crawford.
Elite Model Management president Gerald Marie told French journalists that Hennet “had very little to do with the day to day running of the agency”, and that he played a “purely administrative role.” Right. Apparently he administered the drugs.
