Ever since Michael Steele announced his brilliant plan to revitalize and lead (I added the lead part) the Republican party by injecting it with some hip-hop flavor, republicans (quietly) and democrats (loudly) have been wondering just what in the hell Steele was talking about. Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, in one fell swoop, showed the idiocy of this plan after congratulating Steele following one of his speeches with a “Michael Steele…you be da man”. Well, never one to be left out of the mix, Stephen Colbert issued “a dope yet fiscally responsible challenge” to Steele to be a guest on his show and discuss conservative issues in the form of a freestyle rap. Politico reported that Michael Steele said “bring it on” when he was told about the challenge. But apparently, he hadn’t cleared it with Limbaugh and has yet to show up. Check out Colbert’s instructional Powerpoint “The Rap Battle, How to bring it on” in the video above. This week, Colbert reissued the challenge in email format.
